One person builds Asyncbot, and that person answers you. Expect a reply within two business days.

Reach a human

In Slack. Type /async feedback in any channel. It opens a short form and the note lands with us. This is the fastest route, and you can use it without leaving your work.

By email. Write to [email protected]. Use this if Asyncbot is not installed yet, if you cannot reach Slack, or if you would rather have a written trail.

The things people ask first

How do I set up a rotation?

Type /rotation create in the channel where the work lives. Give it a name, add the people, pick a channel and a schedule. Asyncbot posts a card there showing who owns it today and who is up next.

Pick the channel that the work already happens in. A rotation posts its card there, and that card is the whole point: the name is the interface.

Nothing is posting. What went wrong?

A rotation needs a channel and a schedule before it posts anything. Open the rotation with /rotation list, check that a channel is set, and check that the schedule has a time and at least one day. If a rotation was created without a channel, it has nowhere to post and stays silent.

How do I hand over early?

Open the card's menu and choose Handoff. The name changes straight away and the next person is told. You do not have to wait for the window to close.

I am away. How do I get skipped?

Open the Asyncbot tab in your Slack sidebar and add your time off. You can also set the days you are normally available, which is useful on a four-day week. Asyncbot skips you and moves to the next person.

How do I change who is in a rotation?

Open the card's menu and choose Edit. Add or remove people there. Removing whoever is on right now advances the rotation to the next person, and Asyncbot asks you to confirm before it does.

What does it cost?

Free covers two rotations with up to eight people in total. Pro is 29 euro a month for ten rotations and everyone in your workspace. The price is per workspace, not per person. See pricing.

How do I remove Asyncbot?

Uninstall it from your Slack workspace settings. On a paid plan, the subscription is cancelled automatically when you uninstall. To have your data deleted, email [email protected] and say so.
